On January 14, 1911, these words were recorded in the records of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church -
"Brother W. E. Billingsley preached on Matthew 16:15. Then appointed a committee of five to go to Red Bank on the fourth Sunday in January, 1911, at eleven o'clock for the purpose of organizing a Baptist Church . . . Brother J. J. Coffelt, Brother Will Davis, Brother Edwards, Sister Elder, and Sister Lyons. He urged all that could to attend."

On March 25, 1911, the Reverend A. P. Gallaher organized the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the following charter members:

The meeting place for this newly organized church was in a community church building, commonly known as "The Church on the Hill" in the Red Bank community. Other denominations meeting in the building were the Cumberland Presbyterians and the Methodists.
