Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse (an organization focused on Christian relief and evangelism that is led by Franklin Graham). The mission of OCC is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world and, together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. OCC does this by delivering simple shoe box gifts to these children. Red Bank Baptist Church is seeking to be a part of this ministry by stepping out in faith and seeking a God-sized goal of filling 6000 shoe boxes this year. We will also be a drop off site for the entire community to bring their boxes as well. National Collection Week is November 17-24th.

When & Where can I pick up empty boxes?
There will be flat, empty boxes available for you to pick up on Sunday, October 19th following the worship service. These have simple assembly instructions. Or you may use your own shoe boxes or purchase the plastic ones that are shoe box sized.
Where did these empty boxes come from?
These empty shoe boxes were purchased by Life Groups so we ask that you not take them unless you are committed to filling and returning them. (Our goal is to fill 6000 shoe boxes as a church not including the ones we will collect from community.)
When & Where can I drop off boxes?
Please return your filled boxes during National Collection Week, November 17-24th in the FLC. (Times listed at the link above.) To maintain the integrity of your boxes, we ask that you hold onto them until then.
Are these the same as the boxes we pack for Honduras?
This is a different ministry from that of the team we send to Honduras. Please continue to support them as well. This is just another opportunity for us to share the love of Christ around the world.
What is a packing party?
This will be a fun time when all the donated supplies will be packed. We will need people to help pack the boxes starting at 9am and work until they are finished. (2-3hrs)
Where can I find more information?
The pamphlet holder outside the main church office contains brochures about OCC including suggested items to pack and many other questions you may have. Or you can go to www.samaritanspurse.org.
Why do I leave the box unsealed?
When the shoe boxes leave here, they will go to a distribution center. There, they will double check the items to make sure no banned or inappropriate items made it in the boxes, to keep the gifts from being messed up in the shipping process. They will not remove or redistribute anything else.
